{june 2017 photowalk announcement}

Folks summer is here, so we have decided to dive under the trees and enjoy the shade. We will be hanging out at Butler Park for about thirty minutes to an hour before heading to Zilker Botanical Gardens to finish off the walk before we go for food…yum!

Parking location 1: Free Parking available in lot behind the Dougherty Arts Center [1110 Barton Springs Rd, Austin, TX 78704] north of Barton Springs on Dawson Road.
Parking location 2: Parking should be available at Zilker Botanical Gardens [2220 Barton Springs Rd, Austin, TX 78746].
Meeting location: Free parking lot behind the Dougherty Arts Center [1110 Barton Springs Rd, Austin, TX 78704] at 8:00 am.
Lunch location: The Barton Spring Picnic Food Truck Park [1720 Barton Springs Rd, Austin, TX 78704] which has places like: Hey!…You Gonna Eat or What?, Kebabalicious, and Mighty Cone. If it is too cold we can also head indoors at Green Mesquite BBQ and More, Shady Grove, Chuy’s, and many many more places around.
When: 8:00 am for walking on Saturday June 3, 2017
What: Socialize, Take photos, share photos! Walk until 11:30 am. The plan is to meet up at Butler Park for about thirty minutes to an hour before heading to Zilker Botanical Gardens to finish off the walk. There will be lots in bloom so bring those macro lenses along but there should be good people watching and architectural structures to photograph. Also we will be there when the Woodland Faerie Trail is installed so keep an eye out for the faerie homes.
Why: Community! We are headed to hang out at Butler Park and then Zilker Botanical Gardens. Please dress layered as it may be cool and then warm up.
How: RECOMMENDED: Bring Tripod, camera, off camera flash, creativity. Socialize when you come. Share photo ideas on the walk. You can also share online in the flickr group at http://www.flickr.com/groups/photowalksatx/. If you are not a member yet, just request membership. There is also a google community at Photowalks ATX community that you may request membership to.

To fully participate please make sure to be properly hydrated, dress appropriately too, wear comfortable walking shoes, talk to someone you do not already know.
